My first post, so apologies if this makes no sense! I've decided to start this blog mainly to give an insight into my work at custom controls - hopefully one day it may prove useful for someone in the home automation industry, or at least finally explain to my friends and family what I actually do!
A bit about myself..........
I've been working for Custom Controls for about a year, we mainly supply and install Crestron Home Automation systems. Over the past year I've worked on some pretty cool projects, including the Beetham Tower Penthouse, Europe's highest residential property. It's my job to program these systems, integrate existing hardware and design the user interfaces.
Before that, I studied for a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University in Image Processing. My project was involved in recognising threat objects in airport x-ray images. My first degree was in Media Technology, studying the technology behind the audio and video industry.
